The Magic of a Business Builder
By Alan Rothman

Ask any new person into Network Marketing what is their number one desire, and the top reply will be to find the magic Business Builder that will build an extensive downline, sell or consume a lot of product, and is self-sufficient without the need for a lot of personal time and/or requiring a lot of financial support.

Does such a person exist!
How do we find such a person!
How do we create such a person!

The magic Business Builder does exist and is still alive and well.

The number of natural Business Builders is rare but can be found and recruited into your opportunity, assuming that you have the right product, the right company, and the right compensation plan. Normally, you have to search through a large potential group of candidates, before you locate the right person. You can get lucky in the first few searches, but do not count on it.

The following methods have dug up the gold: The right advertisement in the right publication, certain lead generation lists, a reply to a flyer, a reply from a direct mailing, passing out the right audio tape, leads from your warm market, an existing MLM company that went belly-up, with the individual looking for another opportunity, a person that was recently laid off and looking for a business opportunity, a person searching the web and contacting you from a web page, an e-mail reply to your posting on a newsgroup or on a generic topic.

The list can go on, but you have the general idea. It comes down to communicating your idea to enough people in enough locations, so that you get access to a large group of potential candidates.

Most of us will not have this type of initial luck. Which leads to the inquiry of how we can create such a person. You will be relieved to know that with the right training and support, we all have the potential to become that magic Business Builder.

Brian Tracy, in his books and tapes, suggests that we seek out those people that are already successful within a company and copy those features that seem to work for them, but adopt them to a style with which we have an initial comfort level.

I look for the best audio and videotapes to help explain the benefits of MLM generally and other tapes that will explain the specific benefits of the company and products being offered. I also prepare a list of those books that I feel will be of benefit to enhancing the knowledge and working performance of the people in our family group. Conference calls at least once a week will help answer many initial questions that come up in the first 90 days. Three way calls with your distributors and their prospects will quickly handle the more common objections that arise and give further training and reinforcement in the learning process. Have your upline send an initial welcome package to your beginning recruits, so they know they are not alone. Do not make false expectations or promises, but tell of specific steps that you have found to increase your on-line sponsoring effectiveness. Is your prospect serious about investigating a solid opportunity rather than some hyped-up, get rich quick, pyramid or Ponzi scheme? You want to find people that have staying power!

If you are going through the teaching and sharing method, you can find and develop the strengths of your distributors and at the same time minimize their weaknesses. You can develop that Magic Business Builder.
